Lawrence Township Color Guard
& Winter Guard
Color Guard is an exciting team activity that combines athleticism with dance and choreography. What makes color guard unique is the use of rifles, flags, sabers and other props.

During the summer and fall months, the color guard performs as part of the Marching Pride of Lawrence Township, which competes at local, state, and national competitions. The MPLT was a BOA Grand Nationals Finalist and ISSMA State Finalist in its first year of existence!

During the winter months, Winter Guard members have the opportunity to compete with the the Lawrence Township Winter Guard. These Indiana High School Color Guard Association (IHSCGA) competitions take place in school gymnasiums across Indiana. Performances are staged to recorded music and feature elaborate costuming and stage sets.
Indiana is unique in being the only color guard association that limits its members to high schools. It was begun by educators, and has remained fundamentally rooted in education through its history. Through IHSCGA, thousands of young people have been given a chance to perfect and perform various color guard skills.
All MPLT and LTWG members have opportunities to go on performance trips and attend other fun events.
