Good Evening LT
As some of you know my current job position with MSDLT is considered a performing arts instructional assistant. I have been working towards finishing up requirements to become fully certified to teach. I recently completed all steps and started applying for certified band director positions. This past Wednesday, I was offered and accepted a position at Blue Springs High School outside of Kansas City, MO as Assistant Band Director/Percussion Specialist. I will be moving on after finals week. This is definitely bittersweet. I’m excited for this new opportunity for myself and future family but will miss working with the LT students, parents and directors like crazy.
I have been working with Mr. Wallis and Mr. Hauger on the next steps to fill my position. I am very confident that we will find an amazing person to step in and continue to push the program forward.
It’s hard to put into words how I feel about the past four years, but I will try. I feel extremely blessed to have had amazing, FUN, talented, CrAzY and hard working students. I’m extremely grateful to have had such an amazing group of parents, staff and directors supporting literally anything I asked of you while letting me grow into my first real adult job. I’m so proud of what the students and staff have accomplished and will continue to accomplish in the future. I love all of you and will miss everyone like crazy.
Please keep me updated with your lives and if you are ever in the Kansas City area, look me up!
Also my school email will not work after May so take note of my personal address for updates, or anything. busheyn
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Caroline V. Hanna Auditorium
at Lawrence Central (enter door #11)
For your convenience a parking and interior map are available.
This event is for all students, parents and family members. Whether you are a Rookie student or parent (first time marcher),
or a well-seasoned veteran student or parent, please join us to celebrate the new season.
The check-in process will involve receiving a packet of forms,
updating contact information and completing some paperwork.
6:45pm -Rookie band and guard member check-in
This year we will be hosting our Rookie members and their families in the Commons prior to the program start.
Rookies will have the chance to meet and talk to their peers, student leadership, and staff while enjoying light refreshments.
7:00pm – Veteran band and guard member check-in
Veteran members and families may browse the spirit wear table, catch up with friends
or head to the auditorium immediately after check-in.
7:30pm – Program begins in the Auditorium.
Please arrive early in order to complete check-in before the program start time.
Please plan your time accordingly.
Please enter the Hall of Fame doors (Door # 11) on the North side of the building
where you will check-in and then be directed by student leadership and parent volunteers.
If you are interested in helping with setup, serving refreshments or clean up at the end of the night,

It’s time to celebrate!!! Season Celebration/Awards Night
See you at the Celebration!! Monday, May 8th at 7pm.
This is primarily for the student performers but everyone is invited to attend. Performers and adults who have volunteered in any way for LTWP this season are welcome to sit in the main room and will be provided with pizza, drink & dessert. Everyone else is invited but will have to arrange their own table & food in the smaller group room on your own. Everyone can move into the main room when we start awards. We have the entire restaurant rented to ourselves!

Marching Band Kick-off and Show Reveal: Monday, May 15th 6:30pm-8pm at Lawrence CENTRAL. This is a can’t-miss event for all parents and marchers, current and future! Enter through Door 11, and bring your signed performer contract. You’ll get valuable information about marching band, and directors will reveal the theme of this year’s show, which has been in the works for months.
Rookie Marcher Orientation: Thursday, May 25th at 4:30pm-8:30pm at Lawrence NORTH. Attention all new marchers! Rookie marcher orientation is required for all new MPLT members. At 4:30 registration begins, 5pm–6pm dinner (provided), and 6-8:30pm rehearsal. Turn in your registration form as soon as possible.

It’s time to celebrate!!!
LTWP had an unforgeable week at WGI World Championships! The performers continued to grow and push the show forward each day until the very last note Saturday morning. The performers moved up to 8th place in finals!! I’m so proud of the performers, staff and parent support staff that made this possible. We will celebrate more soon!

LTWP had an awesome performance today! They placed 5th in our round of 17 groups. We will perform in WGI semi finals tomorrow at 3:10pm! Please see the attached schedule for tomorrows details.
