Hello LT!

It’s WGI Championships Week!!! The final schedule for the WGI Championships trip will be released Monday evening. Students received and discussed a very close draft schedule last Saturday. Please pass the word about our sendoff night this Wednesday (details below)! We need to pack the gym.

Rehearsal Schedule for the week of 4.17:

Monday, April 17th 6:30-9:30pm Rehearsal at LN (LC Wind Players go to Orchestra first)

Tuesday, April 18th 6:30-9:30pm Rehearsal at LN

Wednesday, April 19th 6:30-9:30pm Rehearsal at LN

Wednesday, April 19th 8:30-9:30pm Send Off to WGI in LN Main Gym

Thursday, April 20th (Please see itinerary for complete trip details)

8:30am – Students drop luggage in old LN Color Guard Office

9:00am – Rehearsal at LN

10:30am – Rehearsal ends. Load semi and small trailer

11:00am – Performers eat MSDLT lunch early in Cafeteria

11:45am – Students load personal luggage on MSDLT buses. Take uniform bag on bus for inspection. (Have casual clothes for the evening on the bus with you. No access to luggage until the hotel at 10:40pm).

11:55am – Depart Lawrence North (snack on bus)

WGI LC Student Transportation for Thursday Morning:

On Thursday, April 20th LTWP students will be excused from classes and start their day at LN. Students will bring all luggage needed for the Dayton trip that morning and will rehearse at LN before we leave. LC students will need to arrive at LN between 8:30-8:45am that day. Performers needing rides, you will be contacted with carpool details sometime Wednesday.

LC students please email me or check in with me by the end of rehearsal Monday with your choice and your address/phone number if you need a ride Thursday morning.

Options:

1. You will be dropped off at LN Thursday morning and do not need a ride
2. You will need an LTWP parent to pick you up from your home and drop you at LN.

Send off to WGI this Wednesday!

Friends and family, please come and support LTWP in their final home rehearsal before traveling to WGI World Championships! The sendoff night is this Wednesday between 8:30-9:30pm. Please enter door #16 or the athletic door #11 and proceed to the main gym. The rehearsal will end with a full run of the 2017 production. Please keep in mind students are rehearsing and any talking/sound in the gym is a huge distraction to the students and staff.

Snack Bag Donations Needed:

This week LTWP travels to Center Grove High School for the IPA Preview Show. Only the groups going to nationals will be at this event. Information for the WGI Championships trip will be released at the end of the week.

LTWP will perform Thursday, April 20th at 4:40pm in WGI Championship Prelims.

Location: BB&T Arena at Northern Kentucky University

500 Louie B. Nunn Drive

Highland Heights, KY 41099

Cost: $25 General Admission; only sold at the door. This pass is good for all four performance sights that day. Tickets for prelims do not sell out.

LTWP is still in need of a CDL licensed driver!

On Thursday, April 20th 2017, LTWP will embark on a three day trip to Dayton, OH to participate in the WGI Indoor Percussion World Finals.
The group will leave during the day Thursday the 20th, and return in the evening on Saturday the 22nd.

Because the competition is out of state, the usual means of equipment transportation is not available.
LTWP is need of someone who holds a CDL license with on the road experience.
A tractor will be rented from Penske to pull a 48′ instrument/equipment trailer.

LTWP had an awesome performance at IPA State Finals this past Saturday. Congrats on your performance! We are very proud. Thank you to all the performers, staff and parents who made Saturday possible. Now we push for WGI Championships!

Please take note to this week’s adjusted schedule. LC Symphony and Concert Band Percussionists will be participating in ISSMA this Saturday. Because of that, we will have rehearsal Friday instead of Saturday. Again, no rehearsal this Saturday. Thank you for being flexible as we have just received ISSMA performance times this morning.

MSDLT Employees!

Due to scheduling reasons, we will need to take a short bus in addition to the regular bus on our WGI Dayton trip. I’m looking for a current MSDLT employee who would be willing to drive the short bus. The district will train this person very quickly. LTWP will provide the driver with a hotel room, tickets to all events and access to the student meal plan. Please email Mr. Bushey ASAP if you can help us out. Dates are April 20-22.

LTWP is officially on break! We start rehearsals again next Wednesday at 10am. Performers and families; have an awesome, fun and safe spring break!
