Study Abroad:

Have you always wanted to learn about new cultures but can’t afford to travel all over the world? Become a host family for a high school student! Tori Rito, the cymbal tech for LTWP also facilitates placing students from all over the world with welcoming host families here in the US, and is currently looking for new families to add to her host family community! If anyone is interested or knows someone who would be interested in getting more information and potentially becoming a host family for a study abroad student for the 2017-2018 school year, please contact Tori at victoria.rito1. http://www.stsfoundation.org/

Thursday Night Runs:

We need your support. Most Thursday nights LTWP has full ensemble rehearsals in the main gym at LN between 8:30-9:30pm. The rehearsal concludes with a full run of the show during the last 10 minutes. Friends and family are always welcome to watch these Thursday night rehearsals quietly. Your presence would better help the performers experience what a live performance would feel like. You may enter door number 16 and proceed to the main gym.

Crew Meal Buy In:

Crew members who would like to participate in the performer meal plan can buy in for $20. This covers regular season food but not the WGI Dayton trip. We will check our food budget when the WGI trip is closer to determine how to proceed. Please drop your payment with Alison Goller or Suzette Salomon. You can also send it in with a performer or drop in the LN drop box. Please email Suzette Salomon if interested so we can get a head count.

LTWP had an awesome premier of Wanderlust this past Saturday at Franklin Central High School. Thanks to all the parents and staff who made Saturday go so smoothly. The performers placed 2nd in our class!

Hello LT!

LTWP had an awesome premier of the 2017 production of Wanderlust at our Friends and Family Show yesterday! This week we will travel to Franklin Central for our first competition of the season. The schedule for this Saturday is attached. On Saturday show days, performers will need to bring a lunch but will be fed dinner before the show and a snack on the ride home.

Rehearsal Schedule for the week of 2.13:
Tuesday, February 14th 6:30 – 9:30pm Rehearsal at LN

Thursday, February 16th 6:30 – 9:30pm Rehearsal at LN (Crew Members will do a dress run getting on and off the floor at 9:10pm).

Friday, February 17th 4:30 – 6:30pm Rehearsal at LN (Music only)

Saturday, February 18th 10am-3:40pm Rehearsal at LN (Crew Members will do a dress run getting on and off the floor at 3:25pm).

Saturday, February 18th IPA Franklin Central Performance 7:31pm (See attached schedule)

LTWP Apparel Order Delivery NEW:

T-shirts and crew polos will be available for pick up next Saturday, February 18th. All other items may take an additional week. They will be available in the LN performing arts office between 3:45-5pm. If that time does not work your performer can pick them up before or after any rehearsal from Mr. Bushey or during school from Mrs. Goller.

Performers will be staying overnight in the Dayton area during WGI Championships April 20th and 21st. We will leave school sometime on Thursday the 20th and come home very late on Saturday the 22nd. Because of how large WGI has grown, we will be performing at three different sites for WGI Championships.

Our hotel is located in the middle of all three sites. Make sure to call ASAP if you would like to stay at the same hotel as LTWP. Mention you want the Lawrence Township Percussion family rate.

The LTWP Friends and Family Show is Saturday, February 11th. Enter through either door number 11 or 7 on the north side of the building. The premier of “Wanderlust” is at 1pm in the LN main gym and is free to attend! Please spread the word and help fill the gym for our first performance of the season! Following the performance, LTWP will host a dessert reception in the LN cafeteria. LTWP will provide drinks and parents will need to bring desserts to pass. We will have a grey cart set up at the gym entrance for parents to drop off desserts on your way into the performance.

Hello LT!

This past weekend the performers took part in Camp Bushey! Performers learned lots of music/drill and now have 50% of the show learned. The dodgeball tournament ended in a parent/staff victory 2-1 for the first time!! Nice job parents and staff! Our hard training in the off season really paid off! Students also had a history night showcasing with the new organization has accomplished over the last two seasons and what it means to be a member.

Friends and Family Show takes place Saturday, February 11th in the early afternoon. More details on the exact time will come soon. After the performance and demos are over we will have a dessert reception in the LN cafeteria. LTWP will provide drinks and parents will need to bring desserts to pass. Senior Scholarships!

We have two scholarships available to apply for. The first is the WGI Scholarship and the second is the IPA scholarship. I’m only allowed to enter one student into the WGI scholarship and three for the IPA scholarship.

If you are interested in applying, you must email Mr. Bushey (nathanbushey@msdlt.k12.in.us) with your intent and include your cumulative GPA. I will notify the performers with the three highest GPA’s and let them know how to proceed.

Respond by the end of this Tuesday night (1-31) if you want to be considered to apply!

Hello LT!

This weekend is Camp Bushey! Performers will report as usual on Saturday at 10am. They will stay overnight on Saturday and will be dismissed Sunday at 11am. Performers, please bring everything you need for the weekend. Sleeping bag, pillow, toothbrush, deodorant, athletic clothing and shoes (even pit for the game night). Showers will not be open. You will not be allowed to leave until Sunday at 11am. Plan accordingly! Performers will need to bring a lunch Saturday. All other meals will be provided including Saturday dinner, Saturday late night snack and Sunday breakfast through your meal plan.

The 3rd annual staff/parents VS. performer dodgeball game will take place Saturday, January 28th at 9:15pm in the LN main gym. We need parents to play! Parents who would like to participate should be ready to go at 9:15pm in the gym. Enter door #16 and proceed to the gym. The staff and parents have been training hard over the holiday break… WATCH OUT performers!!

Synth/Piano Opening
We have an opening for 3rd synth/piano. If you know of anyone with strong piano experience, please have them contact me ASAP.

Can we borrow your luggage?

Please bring in by this weekend! We are ready for it.

Seriously!! We have a crazy plan for the show but need pieces of luggage to make it happen. You can donate old luggage or loan us yours for the season. If you are able to help, please have your performer bring the pieces into Mr. Bushey’s office before an LTWP rehearsal. Make sure to label with your name and communicate with Mr. Bushey if you would like them returned.
