MPLT Newsletter 8/13/19

Scheduling Changes:

  • Saturday, August 17th: Rehearsal will be from Noon until 5:00pm, due to the Color Run that morning
  • Thursday, August 29th – Friday, September 6th: Rehearsals will be held at LN, due to performances scheduled for LN Football opening night on 8/30 and LT Night at Lucas Oil on 9/6.

Color Run:

  • The 2019 Lawrence Township Color Run is this Saturday, August 17th, at Lawrence North
    • Packet pick-up is this Friday, August 16th, from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at Lawrence North
  • The cost for LT performing arts students to participate is $12.50
    • Orders placed after 8/8/19 are not guaranteed a t-shirt & color packet.
  • MSDLT elementary students and their families can now register for a discounted rate!
    • To receive the discounted rate, elementary families must register via paper form, which can be downloaded here.
  • Family and community members should register online at getactivefundraising.com
  • Students are encouraged to collect pledges to help offset their marching band fees
    • The deadline to submit pledges and forms is Saturday, August 17th

Volunteers Needed:

  • Volunteers/Donations are still needed to help in the following areas at the Color Run:
  • Race Day Set up at LN on 8/17 7am-9am (10 spots left)
  • Race Day Check-In at LN on 8/17 7:30am-9:30am (5 spots left)
  • Sprayer/Course Guide (6 spots left)
  • Mid-race Water Table (2 spots left)
  • Race Day Clean up at LN on 8/17 9am-11am (10 spots left)
  • Granola Bars (10 spots for donations of 25 granola bars)
  • Bananas (10 spots for 2 bunches)

Shuttle Busses:

  • MPLT has reserved a shuttle bus specifically for our LN students; this is different than the regular shuttle between LN and LC.
    • Please do not ride the regular shuttle bus. The MPLT shuttle bus will load outside of door 11 at approximately 4pm, after the other shuttle busses have departed.
  • Parents should pick up their students after rehearsal at LC; students will not be transported back to LN

Remind 101 Update:

As of July 23rd, Remind101 changed their terms of use policy limiting course numbers to 150 members per free account. After a few weeks of researching the best solution to this problem, we have found that the fees and processes associated with upgrading our account were not feasible for the needs of our organization at this time. For this reason, we have decided to go forward with section specific remind classrooms for both students and parents for the remainder of the season. Below are the remind codes and instructions for our newest MPLT remind accounts. We ask that you only sign up for the remind account that corresponds with your student’s section to help us keep the member limit below 150 per class. All remind classes will receive the same information, so if you have multiple students as long as you are registered for one class you will get all pertinent notifications for MPLT members.

To Sign up for remind:

  • Go to text messages and create a new message
  • Type, 81010, into the contact information
  • Text the code corresponding to the class that you would like to sign-up for

  • Donatos cards – Due to the popularity of this sale, additional cards have been ordered and will be available this week in the LC & LN PA offices.

Fan Club:

  • All parents are encouraged to come out to the practice lot on Thursday evening for MPLT Fan Club!
  • Rehearsal will be open to all fans of MPLT from 8:30pm – 9:30pm every Thursday evening during the season.
    • Fan Club will be in the practice lot until LC’s stadium is finished. Be sure to bring chairs!

 

Spirit Wear:

  • Spiritwear is on sale now through Sunday, August 25th
  • Students who have not received a 2019 show shirt should see Melody Pancheri in the LC Performing Arts office
  • Patches are available for pre-order, now through September 16th
