CONGRATULATIONS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON!!!

MPLT Awards Night and Celebration!

• Time to Celebrate! The celebration of the What’s in a Name season is on Tuesday, November 14, from 7:00 – 8:30pm at LN.

Fan Club:

• Show patches from last season, window clings and other items will be available for sale this evening. We will also be assessing interest in ordering What’s in a Name show patches for this year.

Instrument Return:

• ANY MPLT student with an LN school owed instrument, used during marching season needs to return them to LN tomorrow before awards night. If you used an LC marching instrument, it needs to be returned at LC to Mr. James or Ms. LaMarca. Any LN student that used an LC marching instrument may return it to LN Tuesday evening. If you are using these instruments for Pep Band, you are still required to turn the instrument in to the home school director (i.e. LC instrument goes to an LC director, LN school instrument to Mr. Wallis.) It will then be re-checked out to you for pep band.

Photo Orders:

• Additional photos may be ordered from Performing Arts Photography by Bateman.

  • Make payment to Performing Arts Photography and turn in payment with the order.

Student Account Payments:

Percussion students from LN & LC will be attending the PASIC Expo this Friday, November 10th, and there is an urgent need for parents to volunteer as chaperones.

The kids will be riding busses down to the expo, and chaperones would need to be at LN by 8:30am that morning. You’ll be staying at the expo throughout the day, then ride back to LN with the students; the expected arrival time at LN is 3:30pm.

*MPLT Parents: Please note that all MPLT students will be downtown that day for their field trip to the BOA Prelims, however MPLT will not be performing that day. MPLT’s prelim performance is currently scheduled for Thursday, November 9th, at 8:00pm.

Rehearsals and Performances:

• BOA Grand Nationals Week!

  • Thursday 11/9/17: Prelims at Lucas Oil Stadium, performance time is 8:00pm.
  • Friday 11/10/17: Field trip to Lucas Oil Stadium and rehearsal in Convention Center.
  • Saturday 11/11/17: Schedule dependent on results. Semi Finals and Finals performances.

Meal Plan:

ISSMA State Finals @ Lucas Oil Stadium
Saturday, November 4th, 2017

11:45am Arrive at LC (Eat Breakfast/Lunch BEFORE you arrive!)
12:00pm Rehearsal Begins
2:30pm Rehearsal ends – Winds head to band room for Pre-Tuning!
2:45pm Winds – Pre-Tuning in Band Room
3:30pm Dinner (Meal Plan)
4:15pm Change into Uniform
4:50pm Meeting in the band room in full uniform!
5:15pm Load Busses
5:30pm Depart for Lucas Oil Stadium
6:07pm Enter the lot at Lucas Oil. The bus will drop us off in front of the South Gate. We will line up in our 6 lines for transit into the stadium upon arrival. Large instruments, stage, and ramp students need to report to the semi before joining us in our lines! Help the Crew parents with all equipment before lining up!
6:37pm Transit to stadium loading dock
6:57pm Transit to Physical Warm-up. Mallets go straight to music warm-up
7:31pm Winds and Battery Musical warm-up. Battery will go to a separate room for music warm-up.
8:08pm Perform! After performance, we will go up the stairs to the South Concourse for the Milk Party. If you have a prop or equipment, immediately take it to the semi first then enter the stadium through the South Gate and join the milk party in the South Concourse! After the milk party, we will exit the stadium to put equipment away, receive a light snack, set up the retreat block, and return via the South Concourse to sit in section 126. Once seated, we will watch the remaining groups until awards.
10:10pm Awards start. There will be a full on-field retreat.
10:50pm Awards end. Head back to the buses and load for return to LC.
11:15pm Depart Lucas Oil for LC.
11:45pm Return to LC. Put all equipment away and change out of your uniform. We will meet to celebrate, eat pizza, discuss the show, and watch the video together! After the video we have a formal dismissal.
12:45am Estimated dismissal time. Have a ride waiting for you!

Rehearsals and Performances:

  • At the end of rehearsal, we will form a tunnel and "Clap Out" all the kids and staff to show our appreciation for the all the time and dedication that has gone into rehearsals this year. Please arrive at the stadium by 7pm so you can watch the last run and assemble before dismissal at 7:30pm.
