MPLT Newsletter 10/17/17
Rehearsals and Performances:
- REMINDER: Wednesday afternoon rehearsals start tomorrow and will continue through the end of the season. (4:30 – 6:30pm)
- BOA Super Regional Competition at Lucas Oil Stadium, Friday and Saturday. Click here for the full itinerary.
Winter Percussion:
- There will be a LTWP member/parent meeting on Tuesday, October 17th from 7-8pm in the LC Band room. Parents and performers will find out the season schedule, staff and show concept! All potential members and parents must be present.
LCPAA IS STILL IN DESPERATE NEED OF VOLUNTEERS FOR ISSMA Scholastic State Finals at LC THIS SATURDAY, October 21st.
- There are a variety of Shifts available from 3:30 PM until 9 PM, from 11:30 AM until 5:15 PM, 6 AM – 11:30 AM and 5 PM until 9 PM.
- MPLT is hopefully performing in the evening, so you could volunteer for a shift during the day and watch MPLT in the evening. If you have not yet had the opportunity to volunteer for LCPAA, now is the time.
- All Lawrence Central marching band parents need to volunteer for the Invitational or ISSMA Scholastic, especially those whose children are interested in participating in Winter Percussion or Winter Guard. We would be extremely grateful to any LN parents who also might be willing to help.

Meal Plan:
- Please note that all meals are subject to change as itineraries become available.

- Friday 10/20/17: Early dinner at LC is sub sandwiches, chips and fruit. Bus snack that night after BOA regional prelims is large muffins.
- Saturday 10/21/17: Meal is chicken tenders, Mac & Cheese, green beans & applesauce. Bus snack that night after BOA regional finals is package of cheese crackers and apple.
Fan Club & Fundraising:
- Seniors will be honored with a slideshow at the MPLT Awards Night (on November 14) displaying their baby picture and a senior picture. This does not have to be an “official” senior picture; any nice picture will do. Please email a baby picture and a senior picture to Judy Everly at judy or text to 317-258-3197 by October 30th.
- Halloween Trick or Treat bags will be assembled on Oct. 26th. Donations are needed for the bags and volunteers to help assemble them! Go to the volunteer sign up at http://signup.com/go/egoDCPe.
- O’Charley’s Fan Club Events: Eat at O’Charley’s (75th and Shadeland) on competition days, and wear your What’s in a Name show shirt, and you’ll receive 10% off your meal!
- Purchase O’Charley’s ScripNow before you go, and add the 13% rebate to your student account!! Contact your school’s Scrip coordinator for more details!
- Fan Club Thursdays: Parents are encouraged to come and watch the band’s progress and catch up with fellow parents at the end of every Thursday evening rehearsal.
- MPLT Clings and Pins: Car window clings are available for sale for $5, and What’s in a Name pins are $3. Available in the LC PA office and at Thursday evening rehearsals.
Volunteers:
- Uniforms: Please go to MPLT Uniform Volunteers 2017 at http://signup.com/go/NeVHbfx to sign up to help with uniform needs throughout the season.

- More volunteers are always needed from both schools for all events and committees. How can you get involved?

Apparel Orders:
- A Remind message will be sent when the final apparel order arrives! It should be this week.
Photo Orders:
- Photo Button/Pin orders can be picked up at LC.
- Additional photos may be ordered from Performing Arts Photography by Bateman.
- Click here for the order form. Order envelopes are also available at rehearsals.
- Make payment to Performing Arts Photography and turn in payment with the order.
Student Account Payments:
- September payments past due! Your outstanding balance should be no more than $100, unless specified in your payment plan.
- All payments will be made to your home school’s booster organization:

Senior Exploration Day:
- Seniors are encouraged to participate in Senior Exploration Day on Wednesday, October 25th, however, they are expected to be at rehearsal that afternoon.
